Survey Shows That CEOs Are Bad Liars
Money, Silly Salesmen, Uncategorized
According to a survey conducted by a business-beholden think tank, CEOs around the world do not - I repeat, do not - rank profit as their number one concern.
And we are supposed to believe this bald-faced lie. Because despite any CEO’s survey check mark, the primary goal of any business is to make money. Otherwise they would register themselves as a not-for-profit organization. Plus, as every CEO of a company that is publicly held and/or beholden to a board of directors knows, his or her job security - of which there is none - relies on what it says on the balance sheet’s bottom line. That’s why there are layoffs, down-sizings, belt-tightening, and the hiring of outside consultants to insult and scare the company’s own employees.
Please, CEO survey takers — do not mistake the working-person’s brown nose for stupidity.
But alas, the CEOs go on to compound their already huge lie with another one — they rank as their number one concern execution.
At first I thought they were referring to their own ability to kill the hopes, dreams, and very souls of their own employees, but by “execution” they actually mean to say they care about HOW a job gets done, regardless of results. Perhaps such a lie is suppose to keep us from seeing them step on their own dead-mother’s body on the way to the top of the corporate ladder.
But are any of us really that blind?
