I thought McCain came off well in that clip and that even the “You lil’ jerk” line seemed funny and apropos… but you’re right, he’s really let down his core constituency in all the areas that matter. When you’re the “maverick” and what you seem to be rebelling against is every form of common sense, it really leaves people scratching their heads. By the way, Jerry, I’ve had trouble leaving comments at bentsense.com. This is my third or fourth try, I hope it works. It seems that breaking a comment into two or more paragraphs causes a malfunction, so I’m not going to do that here.

John McCain is my senator, I’m disappointed because he shows up for about 50% of the votes. If he can’t take the time to vote for the issues what is he going to do as president?

McCain Nails His Coffin Shut

politics

As if his sagging campaign hasn’t been floundering for long enough - what with his flip-flopping like he was John Kerry on a griddle, or betraying his core constituency with his stands on illegal immigration (he’s for it) and fiscal responsibility (he’s against it) - John McCain has nailed his own coffin shut by trying to make a joke. Yes, in the following video he gives a good answer to an interesting, if not so well-posed question concerning his age and the effects of aging on mental health. And then he tries a bit of humor, which indeed does get a laugh, but also leaves the impression that his mental health suddenly went south.

Enjoy his demise:
